Kelly Lichter is a wife, mother of two children, former teacher, and the founding board president of Mason Classical Academy, Collier County’s highest performing public school. Despite the relentless attacks from the establishment, her successes in public education have been remarkable. Kelly has volunteered her time for nearly ten years at the Academy, and her efforts have been recognized by the Florida Department of Education, US News and World Report, and Eagle Forum.
Most recently, the US News and World Report ranked Mason Classical Academy #1 in Collier County and #351 Nationally. Mason Classical Academy is also ranked #21 in Florida Middle Schools, #28 in Florida High Schools, and #32 in Florida Elementary Schools.
Kelly has been committed to improving the quality of public education and advocating for the children of Collier County since moving to Naples in 2006. She has previous experience working with special needs children and taught US History, Economics, and Government at the high school level. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Baldwin Wallace College and a Master’s Degree in Social Studies Education from Nova Southeastern University.
In her spare time, she enjoys competing in local 5K races, triathlons, and tent-camping with her family. She also volunteers her time coaching boys basketball and helps a local animal rescue by fostering homeless dogs until they find their forever homes.
